Establishment of Material Depots
In many towns and settlements, there are several dilapidated buildings, each with reusable material. It is a good idea to collect these materials in depots for future use.
In the future, material depots should be established in every town/settlement where used building materials can be retrieved/purchased for the maintenance and repair of the old building culture.
The depots can either be located close to the local museum, within the museum buildings, or at the municipal worksites.
Tradition
In the old days, it was not uncommon to move a building to another geographic location or another town. The buildings possess great value, both in the form of good wood and material qualities that are not available today, and in the form of cultural history or the building's originality. A large part of the main structures of a building are numbered, as, before shipment from Norway or Denmark, the building was assembled, the structural parts were numbered with Roman numerals, and then the building was disassembled again and the building parts were transported to Greenland. You can still see the Roman numerals on post or rafter constructions if you look closely, especially if you have access to the attic space in the old buildings.
In many towns and settlements, there are a number of old buildings that have lost their purpose and are standing unused today. These could advantageously either be moved to other locations, reconstructed and experience a renaissance, or they could be carefully disassembled and the building parts reused for the restoration of other cultural-historical buildings in the country.
