Registration and Preservation Declaration

The Greenland National Museum & Archives (NKA) must publish preservation orders, as well as any changes or revocations, within 14 days after making the decision. NKA directly notifies the owner, users with area allocation or other right to use the building, the municipality where the building is located, and other relevant parties. The Court of Kalaallit Nunaat (Retten i Grønland) registers preservation decisions upon request from the Greenland National Museum & Archives.

The Court of Kalaallit Nunaat must notify the Greenland National Museum & Archives of any change of ownership. All right holders over the building must respect preservation orders, regardless of when they established the right.

You can get information about the deeds (skøder), the building, and the owner of preserved buildings in the High Court's (Landsrettens) overview.
